TITLE: Design Engineer DEPARTMENT: Engineering REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager LOCATION: Viola JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for carrying out duties that include design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. Work with engineers, technicians, purchasing, other personnel, and suppliers to meet project goals. Perform tasks as required to complete projects on time and under budget. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees Use specialized software to create models and drawing of products Research new materials and methods of development Organize and maintain existing engineering records Construct prototypes and confirm designs with design/purchasing team Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes...
