Structural Engineer Required Skills Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction techniques, construction documents, building codes and CAD concepts. Advanced CAD/BIM drafting skills. Proficiency in Revit preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Ability to effectively meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
