Job Purpose The Engineering Manager of the Trackwork Division of Progress Rail plans, organizes, and directs the Design Engineering staff to develop specialized Railroad Trackwork structures for North American Class 1 and Transit applications. They will lead the development and standardization of the Design engineering processes for the production and assembly of Trackwork products across seven facilities within the US. They are also responsible to implement and champion new methodologies to improve the consistency and timeliness of the Design Engineering activities and streamline & clarify projects to reduce completion time. Job Purpose Entry level position designing plans and schematics to move trains safely. Our growing facility designs microprocessor and/or relay-based systems that allow for the safe movement of trains. Using MicroStation and AutoCAD, we draft electrical schematics depicting the interfaces between programmable logic controllers and various other pieces of equipment used to control track circuits, signals, electrical motors and communication gear. We also write custom application software based on the location, design, and customer specifications. This position does not work with 3D modeling. This position is in Hudson, WI.
