1 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP Reports to the Manager of Product Design / Engineering. 2 PURPOSE 2.1 Function 2.1.1 Develops engineering designs, specifications, cost estimates, written reports, technical specifications and material specifications for engineering projects; 2.1.2 Works with various disciplines providing overall engineering direction; 2.2 Authority 2.2.1 Ensure implementation of necessary procedures and work instructions to meet requirements of product design system. 3 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 3.1 Conducts comprehensive engineering planning, design and operational studies of components; 3.2 Performs design work including researching data, conducting feasibility and economic studies, and determining design criteria in accordance with required standards and codes; 3.3 Design product (truck/automotive steering columns) in teams and individually using CAD (Incumbent must be proficient in use of CAD or training in the program); 3.4 Perform analysis of...
