ESSENTIAL TASKS: Under limited supervision, the Plan Reviewer will be responsible for digitally reviewing major and minor subdivision plans and/or commercial site plans to ensure compliance with all applicable Richland County regulations and ordinances. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple priorities to meet internal and external deadlines, have basic knowledge of development processes and terminology, and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and within an interdisciplinary team. The Sanitary Engineer is responsible for all engineering processes in relation to the Utilities Department including the role of Sanitary Engineer; and coordinates, develops, plans, supervises, reviews and inspects all phases of design and construction of utility systems and ensures compliance with contract specifications. This position is under the general guidance and direction of the Deputy Director. Reporting to this position are the Associate Engineer II, Associate Engineer, and Utilities Locator. This position regularly interacts with other governmental agencies, consulting engineers, utility contractors, other County Departments and the general public.
