The Controls Engineer is expected to provide design, programming, commissioning, and technical support of automatic machine systems. We require a bachelor's degree in engineering and 2 years' experience. The position requires 25% travel per week. Duties and Responsibilities of a Controls Engineer: Design: Design machine controls systems, including the sizing and selection of variable speed drives, harmonic filters, motors, motor starters, overcurrent protection devices, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), meters, operator interfaces (HMI), and other auxiliary controls using AutoCAD. Programming: Program Allen-Bradley, General Electric, and other brands of PLCs and HMI using the manufacturer's programming packages. Programs must be well organized, documented, and perform all sequence of operations as required for the operation of wire manufacturing machines including drawing machines, annealers, spoolers, electroplaters, bunchers, stranders, payoffs, and others....
