Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Intern will assist assisting manufacturing in improving product fit and finish as well as improving manufacturing processes.
Education/Experience
- Must be enrolled in an Engineering degree program, mechanical or manufacturing preferred
- Experience with Creo, Autodesk Inventor or equivalent CAD system
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities
- Research, design, and implement manufacturing equipment (fixtures, tools, machines)
- Product/component simplification and standardization which included analysis of existing components, research on alternatives and design of new component layouts
- Investigate, evaluate, document, and optimize existing manufacturing processes
- The idea is that each intern works on a project that is tailored to the specific skills and interests of the candidate
Work Conditions
- Moderate to high stress environment as work deadlines are reached
- Time split between an office setting and various areas of the plant
- Employee may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring protective equipment
- Employee may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and oil
- Employee may have to lift or move up to 50 lbs. with mechanical assistance
