Year of study: 2nd year or higher

What will you be doing!
  • Designing and developing detailed drawings in Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Supporting the creation of technical design concepts and calculations as needed.
  • Performing field walkdowns to verify existing conditions and gather design information.
  • Collaborating with mechanical and electrical designers to identify equipment tagging requirements and provide technical data to appropriate databases for preventive maintenance and configuration management.
  • Working with Engineers throughout the project life cycle and support documentation activities required for change control closure.
  • Preparing technical documents, analyze data, and produce reports under the guidance of an Engineer or Senior Designer.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:
  • Education
    • Enrolled in University, completing a mechanical engineering degree.
  • Experience
    • Experience working with process piping and HVAC systems is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Strong CAD skills and a technical aptitude.
    • Ability to read engineering drawings and produce high-quality drafting work using AutoCAD and Inventor.
    • Possesses a solid understanding of mechanical systems is essential, and hands-on experience in a lab, industrial environment, or machine shop will be viewed favourably.
    • Ability to work closely with senior engineers, supporting them in preparing project documentation, organizing planning materials, and managing information throughout the design process.
    • Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."
