Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineer to provide technical leadership for the design, build, and eventual operation of a new In-Situ Recovery (ISR) uranium processing facility. The successful candidate will be a key member of the project development team, responsible for ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency throughout all project phases, from feasibility studies and detailed engineering to construction and commissioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work with in-house experts, contractors and consultants to develop, design and construct processing plant facilities.
- Provide process engineering and technical expertise for various project design phases, including feasibility studies, detailed engineering, and environmental assessments.
- Design and conduct laboratory process amenability testing programs.
- Lead development of key engineering documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), material and energy balances, and equipment specification sheets.
- Help review, design and size process equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, tanks, reverse osmosis units, ion exchange columns, low temperature driers and baghouses, filter presses, resin shakers, eluting and precipitation circuits) and systems for the ISR process facility and associated wellfields.
- Design a process laboratory for onsite analysis, help develop an environmental monitoring program for assaying all process and environmental requirements.
- Ensure the facility design and operations comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NRC, EPA, BLM and State regulations).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Geology, Environment, Safety, Operations, Administration, external consultants, and contractors) to ensure seamless project integration and execution.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, project budgets, and procurement documents.
- Provide technical support during the construction, installation, commissioning, and initial operation phases of the facility, including troubleshooting process issues and supporting maintenance teams.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide training to operations staff.
- Designs and coordinates equipment maintenance plan.
- Support maintenance personnel, troubleshooting and servicing facility equipment and facilitate repairs.
- Designs and maintains operation of automation systems within plant.
- Read, understand and help negotiate contracts and documents associated with the project, (chemical supplies, equipment, construction needs and materials, day-to-day activities).

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications- Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or PE) designation or eligibility.
- 5-8 years of experience specific to In-Situ Recovery (ISR) mining operations and management or design and construction
- Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, and technical procedures, regulatory bodies such as the NRC or state environmental agencies.
- Proficient in AutoCAD software (Revit, SolidWorks, etc., Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) leadership.
