Your future role on our team

To pursue project and clientdevelopment in the Sept-Îles region, BBA wants to bolster its localmultidisciplinary team. Working closely with our offices in Labrador City,Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developingthe Sept-Îles region and in executing various projects in the mining andmetals, and energy sectors. BBA's mechanical engineering teams stands out amongCôte-Nord clients because of their cutting-edge technical expertise. Your role as engineer and project leader will beto participate in engineering, in selecting technology and in executingprojects in the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors; to help identifybusiness opportunities with clients; and to draft winning proposals. You'll playan essentially technical and project management role in the mandates assignedto you. You'll contribute to the firm's business development by maintainingbusiness relationships with clients.

  • Help write technical reports
  • Lead and participate in designing plans, specifications and details based on guidelines from a senior engineer
  • Perform design calculations and ensure that plans meet guidelines as well as code requirements and other regulations
  • Prepare material lists and bills of lading in accordance with codes, standards, drawings and other methods in compliance with BBA's quality system requirements
  • Provide recommendations on establishing standards and other practical applications
  • Coordinate the work of drafters or other team members
  • Assign and review the work of less experienced engineers, technicians and support staff
  • Ensure work complies with established budgets, schedules, estimates and procedures
  • Plan, organize, lead and coordinate projects
  • Perform technical information surveys
  • Help commission and troubleshoot systems
  • Help draft proposals

Overview of certifications and jobrequirements

  • University degree in mechanical engineering and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferrably in heavy industrial projects
  • Available for short-term work assignments between Sept-Îles and our Labrador City office, depending on business needs
  • ASP Construction card
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, like Excel, and other applications, databases and interfaces
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Navisworks applications
  • Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects
  • Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, and more)
  • Asset: knowledge of SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, ANSYS and Fathom applications
