Job Summary & Essential FunctionsThe position involved electronic design, embedded digital and analog design. Supplementary tasks include electro-mechanical systems, and a broad understanding of failure analysis while working in an ISO 9002 environment.
- Develop digital, embedded and analog circuit design
- Design embedded software
- Design and develop test fixtures
- Develop LabVIEW design
- Coordinate and be responsible for the execution of a large project (broad in scope), or a number of smaller projects with complex features
- Develop conceptual/preliminary designs for new projects and products
- Participate in initial technical discussions with current and prospective customers as well as subsequent design review meetings
- Lead design reviews
- Administer electrical and mechanical design input to the engineering department
- Develop bid proposals
- Guide the CAD/CAE effort within engineering department
- Develop test requirements and/or test procedures working with engineers and technicians
- Define parts and components used in designs and systems
- Collaborate with purchasing, production, quality and outside suppliers to set and meet schedules to accommodate customer requirements
- Lead multi-disciplinary failure analysis
- Provide support to manufacturing functions to ensure correct procedures and instructions utilized in building product
- Provide mentoring and coaching to engineers
- Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Knowledge of analog circuit design
- Knowledge of prototyping methods
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes

- Advanced knowledge of 3-D design tools, Solid Works
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking technologies, including Ethernet and TCP/IP
- Advanced knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits and theory
- Ability in electronic circuit design
- Advanced ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
- Advanced ability in electronic and electromechanical systems
- Finite element analysis skills
- Expert ability to troubleshoot down to the component level for both analog, digital, and embedded circuit/systems skills
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot PC hardware
- Advanced ability to specify engineering design tools
- Advanced ability to perform root cause analysis
- Advanced ability in schematic capture and electrical design
- Advanced ability to design embedded systems
- Advanced technical writing and documentation skills
- Advanced level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization
- Ability to facilitate meetings

Required Experience & Education - Bachelor's degree in related technical field
- Seven years of relevant work experience required
- Master's degree in related technical field
- Five years of relevant work experience required Previous experience with electronic circuit design
