We are currently seeking a
Structural Engineer with
3-7 years of experiencein our
Jacksonville office.
What You'll Do:As a Structural Engineer, you will work on multiple projects with general supervision and as part of a team on larger projects under a Senior Structural Engineer's guidance. Your role includes evaluation, analysis, calculations, and preparing drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. You will collaborate with junior and senior engineers, architects, clients, and contractors. You'll also resolve design and construction issues, adhere to project timelines and budgets, and continuously develop your technical skills. As you gain experience, you will take on more responsibility in project execution and management.
- Prime AE Group, Inc. project types include Military/Department of Defense facilities and bases, Federal, Justice, K-12, Higher Education, Corporate Commercial, Hospitality, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Cultural & Historic, and Residential.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct preliminary and detailed structural analysis and design, ensuring compliance with local and national building codes and standards.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of structural engineering principles, and effectively communicate technical ideas and solutions to team members and clients.
- Design, analyze, and specify structural systems including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber for both new buildings and renovations/additions to existing structures.
- Lead or support an engineering team in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering all structural systems for the project.
- Proficiency in Revit for creating models, drawings, sections, and details.
- Provide construction administration services and collaborate with contractors to address any construction issues that arise during the construction phase.
- Prepare detailed condition assessment reports on the condition of existing structures and systems.
- Coordinate with PRIME AE's Architectural & MEP divisions to ensure integrated design and functionality.
- Occasional, pre-determined travel may be required for project assessments or site visits.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers within the Structural department, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing.
What You'll Bring:- Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 -7 years of experience.
- EI required, PE/SE license in good standing preferred.
- Due to the projects associated with this position, US Citizenship is required.
- Strong understanding of structural systems, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software, including Revit, RISA, and Enercalc.
- Experience in designing federal, public sector, education, wastewater treatment plants, and restoration projects.
- Must be able to follow and properly apply market specific guidelines, the practices and policies of the associated local and building codes, discipline, divisions and firm.
- Excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to independently manage and design projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle deadline-driven tasks while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
