Process Engineer
On behalf of our manufacturing client, Procom is searching for a Process Engineer for a permanent role. This position is 100% onsite at our client's Whitsett, North Carolina office.
Process Engineer - Job Description:
We are seeking a Process Engineer to oversee and optimize processes on a manual assembly line. This role involves process development, line balancing, and solving complex problems to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Process Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Work closely with design, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product introductions.
• Design, validate, and implement new manufacturing processes, tooling, and test fixtures.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers to develop and optimize custom parts and production processes.
• Prepare documentation such as bills of materials (BOMs), control plans, and work instructions, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, evaluate risks, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement activities, analyze production performance metrics, and provide technical support to the manufacturing floor.
Process Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
• Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, Manufacturing Systems software, data analysis tools, and other relevant software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Power BI is a plus).
Process Engineer - Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with AutoCAD layout generation.
• Experience in tooling development.
• Familiarity with MEFF or PFMEA standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with Linux systems, server hardware, and enterprise fulfillment operations.
