SUMMARY

This role supports the planning, execution, and analysis of engineering tests for mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic systems in an aerospace/defense environment. The position involves hands-on work developing test methods, fixtures, instrumentation, and reports while assisting with project delivery to meet client, schedule, and budget requirements. The engineer works in both office and manufacturing settings, contributing to continuous improvement efforts, control systems implementation, and overall project performance in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with test planning, execution, and troubleshooting, including test design and analysis; development of test methods, fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems; and preparation of test procedures, plans, and reports.
  • Assists in delivering projects that meet client goals on schedule and within budget, ensuring high standards of technical accuracy, completeness, and presentation.
  • Supports engineering project planning and execution for mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic systems.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of existing equipment through implementation of control systems and supports business development and project performance to meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrates a strong interest in the aerospace industry and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to define problems verbally and writing.
  • Ability to utilize common hand and power tools.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. or M.S. Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent in relevant experience and registration.
  • Typically possesses 0-3 years aerospace and/or defense experience.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and thermal system is a plus.
  • Experience with programming PLC control systems (ladder logic, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of SolidWorks and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of military and commercial specifications preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.
