Your opportunity

Dillon's Transportation Infrastructure Discipline is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate to fill an existing vacancy within our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

We offer flexible work hours to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life. This position is available at our Kingston or London office.

Responsibilities

Design and coordination
  • Assist project managers with multi-disciplinary projects
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering designs including:
    • Engineering studies
    • Technical report writing
    • Technical specifications
    • Design calculations
  • Drafting of ongoing and new projects using CAD software
  • Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion
  • Assist with site investigations and condition assessments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
  • Contribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations
  • Contribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
  • Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request

Qualifications

  • A University degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • One to two years' co-op or work experience with exposure to consulting is considered an asset

Experience

  • Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards, regulatory requirements, industry standards, specifications and good engineering practices will be considered an asset
  • Understand project design and implementation activities, including: development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering and contract administration will be considered an asset
  • Proficient in the use of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer or InRoads software will be considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
