Overhead Transmission Engineer to support the design and development of overhead transmission systems for power delivery projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and complex projects-ranging from new infrastructure builds to system upgrades-while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient solutions for clients.
As an Overhead Transmission Engineer, you will play a critical role in project execution, from early design concepts through technical analysis, implementation, and field assignments. You'll collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, resolve technical challenges, and contribute to advancing energy infrastructure across multiple applications, including renewable integration, AC/DC conversion, and smart grid technologies.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and support the design, analysis, and development of overhead transmission line projects.
- Provide technical expertise to address design challenges, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor project progress, performance, and budgets while minimizing delays through proactive problem-solving.
- Prepare engineering documents, calculations, and drawings, while ensuring QA/QC procedures are followed.
- Conduct field work as required to support design verification and construction.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in power transmission and infrastructure design.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (required).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, preferably in transmission line or utility projects.
- Strong proficiency with PLS-Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with engineering and modeling software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, BlueBeam, FAD, or LPile (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
- Team-oriented mindset with a desire to collaborate and support senior engineers.
- Active participation in professional engineering societies (preferred).
Salary Range: $82,000 - $92,500 (commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications).
