Sr. Design Engineer - Plastic Design in
Schaumburg, IL. As a Sr. Design Engineer - Plastic Design you will: - Lead projects from concept through to launch.
- Provide technical support in plastic part design and processing.
- Draw and design package preparation and release.
- Develop requirements and analyze product design data to determine conformance to established design selection criteria, standardized parts and equipment use, and design-to-cost practices.
- Maintain and upgrade existing products.
- Establish test plans and execute 3rd party certifications.
- Lead the development and testing of prototypes for new product ideas and create product specifications.
- Create and maintain project development plans and create and execute Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
- Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and redesign existing products.
- Generate and release full bills of material for manufacturing.
- Identify non-conformances and root causes to initiate and implement solutions.
This is a
full-time Direct Hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have: - A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
- A master's in mechanical engineering is preferred.
- 10 years of experience in Plastics (injection, structural foam molding) required.
- At least 5 years of CREO/Windchill experience is desired.
- Experience with another 3D CAD system will be considered.
- FEA experience (stress, creep, compression, etc.) using CREO Simulate or Ansys.
- Familiarity with industry standards including: Telcordia Specification, TIA, SCTE, FOA, etc. and the testing required.
- Understanding of Product Life Cycle Management, RCA, and 3D printing required.
- Understanding of Tooling and its design for review with 3rd party tool designers required.
- FRP Composite design and manufacturing desired.
- Fiber Optics experience desired (patch panel, splice trays, handling, and routing).
- Fiber optic measurement (power meter, OTRD, fiber microscope) desired.
- SPE member desired.
- Knowledge of MS Project and Visio desired.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Duration: Fulltime Location: Schaumburg, IL Salary Range: $100K-$130K Per Annum *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
