Position Summary

We are looking for a Project Engineer to support the engineering side of major projects and ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and executed. This role works closely with Project Managers and engineering teams to manage project documentation, drawings, schedules, and technical details.

The Project Engineer will play a key role in generating drawings and models for fabrication, coordinating work orders, maintaining strong customer communication, and supporting the full project lifecycle. Strong organizational skills, communication, and technical drafting proficiency-especially with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor-are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to clearly define and document project requirements.
  • Communicate customer-specific needs to the Engineering Department.
  • Provide feedback to Project Managers on customer-related needs or changes.
  • Prepare project layouts, approval drawings, utility connections, P&IDs, and installation drawings.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized project documentation and folder structures.
  • Assist with developing, updating, and executing project schedules.
  • Support shipping preparation, installation, change order management, warranty tasks, and redlines/as-builts.
  • Work with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to monitor the work order schedule and resolve conflicts.
  • Create functional fabrication drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Perform preliminary equipment sizing and ensure design consistency across the project.
  • Demonstrate strong design capability and confidence in created models.
  • Manage and guide others in completing assigned project tasks.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Multitask across several concurrent projects while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Travel as needed for project support.
  • Follow all shop safety practices.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in drafting or equivalent experience-based proficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical design and drafting practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform moderate engineering calculations.
  • Ability to work both independently and in team environments.
  • Motivated, team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and integrity.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, type, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, work boots, etc.) when needed.
