POSITION SUMMARY: Seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and intellectual Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer! The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will work on improving process and efficiency in the plant as well as scrap reduction. Working alongside of a highly skilled team, you'll participate in a variety of projects, preparing you for a career after graduation!

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide manufacturing with tools and technical engineering support to implement new products and processes into production.
  • Provide ideas for designs and assemblies and follow through from concept through production.
  • Work with Quality Engineering on corrective actions to improve overall quality and reduce customer complaints.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Improve American Seating's current processes by removing constraints through a team approach.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with CAD, Solidworks, Lean Manufacturing, Powdercoat, Upholstery, Metal Fab, Welding, and Assembly is preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Be mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot by interacting hands-on with shop floor personnel.
  • Strong desire to learn and be professionally driven.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
