JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/ Objectives

MFG engineers work under the guidance and direction of manufacturing engineers and under the supervision of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. MFG Engineers provide support for both engineering and the production shop floor by aiding in identifying and executing continuous improvement activities and providing support for product and process development.

Essential Functions

  1. Possess a working knowledge of manufacturing operations, material consumptions and movements, and manufacturing methods to craft precise and accurate methods of manufacturing
  2. Ensures product quality by developing testing and assurance methods and defining them with operations on the ERP bill of operations
  3. Document, design, develop, and implement or recommend production tooling and machinery to support manufacturing efficiency improvements or new production processes
  4. Provide detailed review and costing of manufacturing requirements or needs as assigned to project efforts and requests
  5. Documentation, review, and completion of EWR's and ECO's through the manufacturing engineering process as assigned
  6. Create, load, update, and facilitate MOM/BOM updates into Kinetic that are derived from ECO's or document mark-ups either directly or through CADlink
  7. Assist product design in the creation and facilitation of First Article process including documentation and processing
  8. Engage project engineering to ensure products have detailed product test plans that align with quality and/or performance requirements for production
  9. Ensures thoroughness of production work instructions by occasionally reviewing, creating, and updating supporting documentation.
  10. Participates in production and engineering departmental studies and process improvements
  11. Frequently review assigned manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for enhanced OEE
  12. Document and participate in implementation efforts of continuous improvement opportunities for assigned processes related to safety, quality, service, cost, and efficiency


Competencies
  1. Microsoft O365
  2. Problem solving and critical thinking
  3. CAD Modeling software, specifically SolidWorks
  4. Solid understanding of engineering standards
  5. Foundational knowledge of machinery assembly, coating, welding, and CNC manufacturing processes
  6. Lean Six Sigma


Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Professional office setting with individual workspace. Frequent work in the production work areas and warehouse.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. This position may occasionally require long hours and weekend work.

Travel

Travel may be necessary on a planned basis to other Puck, LLC manufacturing locations.

Required Education & Experience
  1. High School Diploma/GED or higher
  2. Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing experience


Preferred Education & Experience
  1. Associates degree or higher in engineering or related science
  2. Minimum 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  3. Minimum Yellow Belt level certification in Lean Six Sigma
