Job DescriptionJob Description:Under the direction of the Section Manager, Design and Construction, the Mechanical Engineer Project Manager is responsible for managing architectural and engineering professional services contracts and construction contracts. Responsibilities include:
- Writing mechanical portions of project scopes for solicitation of architectural and engineering professional services.
- Oversight review and negotiation of mechanical portions of professional services fee proposals; design review of project documentation and contractual responsibilities during pre-design, design, construction, and warranty periods; performing quality assurance/quality control reviews for architectural and engineering design submittals related to mechanical systems.
- Writing mechanical portions of construction documents for bid letting for construction; inspecting construction contract work in the field and ensuring that project is constructed in accordance with detailed plans and specifications.
- Reviewing and negotiating contractor change order proposals related to mechanical systems and mechanical components.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation:Must have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Certifications/licenses:Must have valid Class D Driver's License. An Engineer-in-Training Certification and/or professional engineering license is preferred.
Experience:Must have a minimum of four years of design and/or construction administration experience, an emphasis on site inspection/observation is preferred.
Proficiencies:Knowledge of design for factory/industrial maintenance facilities, including building heating, ventilating, air conditioning and exhaust systems and equipment, vehicle exhaust systems, gas monitoring systems, computer room air conditioning, plumbing and fluid process piping, battery electric vehicle charging, and building automation and HVAC control systems and commissioning experience is preferred.
Must be proficient using Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience using AutoCAD is preferred. Building systems commissioning expertise is a plus. Previous experience using e-Builder and Bluebeam is preferred.
Must be a self-starter with strong organization, research, and written communication skills, be detail and analytically oriented with the ability to prioritize and actively participate amongst multiple project teams simultaneously.
Physical requirements:Must be able to sit and type at a computer for extended period of time. Must have the
ability to maneuver on a construction site, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:The position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment. However, occasional travel to Pace construction sites may be required, where the employee may be exposed to loud noises, to extreme weather conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, substances or waste.
This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule after successful completion of 6-month job introduction period.Salary:Full Salary Range: $70,902 - $148,969
Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $109,936 - 129,452
Midpoint: $109,936
