Byrne & Jones is looking for a Project Manager, Engineer to lead civil design efforts for sports, parks, and site development projects. This role combines hands-on engineering, design review, and leadership while working closely with clients, agencies, and internal teams.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead, design, and review civil designs (grading, drainage, stormwater, turf-base systems)
  • Collaborate with estimating, project management, and sales teams, attending client hand-off meetings and providing ongoing project support
  • Provide QA/QC for work produced by Civil Designers and Project Engineers
  • Ensure designs meet municipal, state, and agency standards (AHJs, MODNR, USACE, etc.)
  • Mentor, train, and support engineering staff
  • Prepare and review permit submittals and coordinate approvals
  • Attend client and municipal meetings
  • Help manage workloads and support smooth handoff to construction

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of civil engineering experience (site design and project coordination)
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, and stormwater design
  • Sports/parks experience and Midwest standards knowledge are a plus

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform essential job functions while working at a computer for
    extended periods of time
  • Ability to visit construction sites and navigate uneven terrain with PPE
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
