Geotechnical Engineer

GameChange Solar (GCS), one of the largest U.S. suppliers of solar racking and tracker systems, is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. We are looking for creative, driven professionals who want to apply geotechnical engineering principles at massive scale and make a measurable impact on the global energy transition. In this role, you will play a key part in enabling the installation of gigawatts of solar capacity worldwide, supporting projects from early development through construction. Geotechnical Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Review site geotechnical reports during project development and support the GCS business development team with technical evaluations.
  • Identify geotechnical design risks and provide preliminary recommendations for foundation type, embedment depth, and feasibility.
  • Develop load test (pull test) procedures for field verification of foundation designs.
  • Review and interpret pull test results and collaborate with internal geotechnical and structural engineers to finalize foundation designs.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and external engineers, and participate in project meetings as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement of internal geotechnical design practices and standards.

Geotechnical Engineer Skills & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and geotechnical reports.
  • Familiarity with applying engineering codes and standards to design decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Field oversite and planning of geotechnical field investigations
  • Prior experience with deep foundations, driven piles, or load testing.
  • Experience with LPILE or similar lateral pile analysis software
  • Moderate proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Netsuite
  • Experience in utility-scale solar

Work Environment:
  • Business casual attire in the office
  • PPE is required for site visits and field activities. Periodic travel may be required. Less than 15%
