Geotechnical Project Engineer (Menard USA)

Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to all Company safety rules and procedures.
  • Performing and managing field quality control tests and production records.
  • Performing basic field surveys, resolving geometry issues, preparing drawings/sketches to support construction work.
  • Ensuring all work is in accordance with Menard's standards and design and construction drawings.
  • Researching and resolving drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
  • Preparing RFI's for submission to General Contractors and Engineers.
  • Preparing project submittals for materials, work plans, means & methods statements
  • Maintaining and establishing relationships with project stakeholders and clients.
  • Supporting the Marketing and Business Development departments by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
  • Making technical presentations to prospects and supporting educational training of Menard clientele.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Understanding of basic principles of Civil Engineering and Construction Management (Geotechnical Engineer and Heavy Civil Construction).
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong observation skills and ability to work with diligence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD.
  • 50% overnight travel required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 0-3 years of experience required.

-OR- any equivalent combination of education and experience which meets the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting at desk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities in all types of weather conditions.

Certifications, Licenses, Etc:

Required: OSHA 30 (company will assist)

Desired: Engineer In Training (EIT)
