Job Description
Rodriguez Consulting, LLC (Rodriguez) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer I to join our Infrastructure Design Group in the vibrant neighborhood of Fishtown, Philadelphia! At Rodriguez, you'll play a hands-on role in designing and improving the infrastructure that keeps our city moving - from water and sewer systems to roadways, stormwater infrastructure, and land development projects.

As an Engineer I, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to support the design and delivery of public and private infrastructure projects. You'll prepare plans and specifications, conduct engineering calculations, assist with project management tasks, and support construction administration activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer eager to apply technical skills, grow professionally, and contribute to projects that make a visible impact in Philadelphia's communities.

You'll gain experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and Zoho Projects to support the design, coordination, and documentation of complex projects. You'll also collaborate with clients and agencies such as the Philadelphia Water Department and PennDOT, gaining exposure to real-world engineering processes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing construction plans for water, sewer, roadway, ADA, and site design projects under the supervision of senior engineers or project managers.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software to support design development, update base maps, and perform basic data analyses.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses to evaluate project components and ensure design accuracy and compliance.
• Support project scheduling, task management, and documentation using Zoho Projects.
• Assist in construction administration activities, including cost estimating, budgeting, and reviewing contractor submittals.
• Prepare and organize documentation for agency reviews and permitting submissions.
• Participate in team meetings, report on task progress, and collaborate across departments to ensure quality and timely deliverables.
• Engage in continuing professional development by completing at least 12 hours of training annually in topics such as water, sewer, or stormwater infrastructure, construction technologies, and engineering ethics.

This role is based in our Fishtown office at The Center for Educational Excellence in Oxford Mills. Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field

Experience:

• 1-4 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and a basic understanding of GIS software required
• Experience supporting design, drafting, and plan preparation for water, sewer, roadway, or land development projects preferred

Certifications:

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required
• OSHA Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications required
• Commitment to 12 hours of annual professional development

Skills:

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards
• Ability to perform calculations, manage tasks, and communicate effectively with team members
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Zoho Projects preferred
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
