Staff III or higher to support and lead solid waste engineering projects across California and the western U.S. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level professional with a strong background in civil or geotechnical engineering and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in the landfill and environmental infrastructure space.

Join us to power the shift toward cleaner, smarter environmental solutions. Apply today and make a lasting impact. What You'll Do:- Support and lead engineering tasks related to landfill design, siting, expansions, closures, cover systems, and associated civil works
- Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, settlement, groundwater flow, bearing capacity, and seismic hazard and response
- Assist in the development of landfill gas, leachate, stormwater control, and environmental monitoring system designs
- Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, engineering calculations, and construction bid documents for landfill composite liner systems and final covers
- Conduct field investigations, including subsurface explorations, soil sampling, geotechnical testing oversight, and geotechnical instrumentation
- Observe and document landfill construction activities and perform Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) services to ensure design and regulatory compliance
- Support site inspections, as-built documentation, and contractor coordination
- Support preparation of permit applications, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, stormwater management plans, and regulatory submittals
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to solid waste, groundwater, stormwater, and environmental protection
- Assist Project Managers in preparing scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geotechnical, environmental, civil, and hydrogeologic disciplines
- Perform data analysis, prepare technical memoranda, and contribute to engineering reports
- Communicate proactively with clients, contractors, agency representatives, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure quality and accuracy of calculations, drawings, and work products
- Remain current with geotechnical and landfill engineering standards, materials, and best practices
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
What You'll Bring:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field
- Master's degree is preferred
- 5+ years of progressive geotechnical or solid waste engineering experience, ideally including landfill design or CQA
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in CA or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Experience with geotechnical design software (e.g., GeoStudio, HELP, Slide, SEEP/W, Slope/W, gINT)
- Familiarity with CAD platforms (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS is a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills
- Ability to perform field work, travel to project sites, and work outdoors as needed
Salary Range:$95,000-$120,000
