The Cheshire Career Center is seeking an educator to lead our
Drafting and Design Technology program. This role is perfect for a technical professional looking to transition into the classroom or an educator with a deep passion for CAD, engineering, and architecture. You will be responsible for preparing students for the modern workforce by bridging the gap between theoretical design and hands-on application.
You will guide students through a comprehensive pathway of courses, including:
- Foundational: Basic Drafting, Pre-Engineering, CAD, and Fundamentals of Engineering
- Specialized/Advanced: Applied and Advanced Drafting (with tracks in both Architecture or Mechanical design)
Key Responsibilities- Instructional Leadership: Deliver competency-based instruction that aligns with New Hampshire CTE standards.
- Industry Integration: Maintain a relevant curriculum by incorporating current industry software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit) and trends.
- Project-Based Learning: Facilitate hands-on projects involving 3D printing, prototyping, and technical documentation.
- Career Mentorship: Help students earn industry-recognized certifications and prepare for post-secondary education or direct entry into the engineering and design workforce.

Qualifications & Requirements- Certification: Must hold or be eligible for New Hampshire Department of Education Certification 1713 (Drafting and Design Technology).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Professional experience in a design or engineering firm is highly valued. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and significant industry experience are encouraged to apply.
