We are seeking a motivated anddetail-oriented Transmission Line Engineer to join our growing engineeringteam. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and analysisof overhead and underground high-voltage transmission line projects rangingfrom 5 kV to 765 kV. This role offers the opportunity to work on utility-scaleprojects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic consultingenvironment.

With Us, You Will Have the Opportunity to...
  • Perform detailed design of overhead transmission lines, including:
    - Conductor and shield wire selection
    - Structure spotting and optimization
    - Sag and tension calculations
    - Clearance analysis
  • Prepare engineering deliverables such as:
    - Plan and profile drawings
    - Stringing charts
    - Design calculations and technical reports
  • Conduct structural loading analysis for poles and towers under wind, ice, and broken-wire conditions.
  • Coordinate with civil, geotechnical, environmental, and survey teams.
  • Review vendor drawings and support procurement activities.
  • Provide engineering support during construction and respond to field inquiries.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable CSA standards, utility requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Overview of certifications and jobrequirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Registered as a P.Eng. or eligible for registration in Ontario or Quebec.
  • Minimum 5+ years of transmission line design experience.
  • Working knowledge of CSA standards and utility design practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and/or PLS-TOWER.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
  • Experience working with LiDAR data and terrain models.
  • Knowledge of foundation design or geotechnical coordination.
  • Experience with transmission line uprating or rehabilitation projects.

Software Experience:
  • PLS-CADD
  • PLS-POLE / PLS-TOWER
  • AutoCAD / Civil 3D / MicroStation
  • ArcGIS or other GIS tools
  • Microsoft Excel (advanced)
