Summary
Provost & Pritchard is looking for a motivated candidate to join our team. This position will actively participate in projects alongside a team of dedicated engineering professionals serving irrigation districts, groundwater sustainability agencies, and agricultural entities throughout California's Central Valley. This role offers engineering professionals the opportunity to work directly with clients and manage innovative projects that address today's water management challenges, helping lead agriculture and surrounding communities toward a more sustainable future. Duties will include project planning, engineering consulting and design, client engagement, and project management.
Duties
Candidates must show an understanding of water resources engineering and be able to apply their knowledge in a practical manner. Serious candidates must have an understanding, interest, and experience in areas such as:
- Water Sustainability Studies and Solutions
- Surface water conveyance and distribution
- Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) and Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR)
- Water Conservation
- Irrigation District Operations
- Groundwater Management, Recharge and Banking
- Environmental Compliance Issues
- Project Funding and Grants
- Water Transfers and Exchanges
- Water Rights
- Feasibility Studies
- Project Planning and Design
- Public Works Construction Contracts
Qualifications
For Assistant level candidates:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 0-3 years of experience preparing engineering calculations and conducting research
- Experience with AutoCAD, with Civil 3D is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Team player with service-oriented mentality
- Motivated self-starter
For Associate level candidates:
- Professional Engineer (Civil) licensed in the State of California
- 10+ years of experience in public sector or consulting engineering leading and directing work teams in studies, investigations and designs delivering positive results.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a primary client contact.
- Experience with irrigation districts and knowledge of California water rights and water systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
