Summary:Performs mechanical, electrical and architectural design, engineering drawings, and construction details to meet the state and local codes and city building department s space requirements. Coordinates construction renovation activities, prepares reports, estimates costs and prepares bids.
Formal Education Required: -Four (4) years accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture Engineering, or Construction Engineering Technology Degree.
-Professional Engineering License or registered Architect is preferred.
Experience and Training Required: -Experience in hospital life safety program requirements preferred.
-Possess well round knowledge of construction and will develop expertise in certain healthcare areas.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:-Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of organizational leaders/patients/customers/vendors/contractors with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and scheduling software. AutoCad Experience is a plus.
-Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills.
-Demonstrates skills in negotiation of contracts, critical issues and persuasion.
