DescriptionJuneau Construction Company is seeking a Virtual Design + Construction (VD+C) Engineer based out of our Atlanta, GA office to report to our Director of VD+C.
The VD+C Engineer's role within the VD+C department is to lead Preconstruction and Operations project teams with the coordination of structural, architectural, and building systems on midsized to large projects.
Position Requirements:- B.S. in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and/or Media Disciplines Required; Master's Degree Preferred
- Passion for technology and the built environment
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and details
- Fluent use of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
Duties and Responsibilities:- Understand construction documents and how they relate to VD+C, Preconstruction, and Operations
- Review of design documents and models for completeness and accuracy
- Model development for the coordination of architectural and structural components, as well as overhead or below-grade systems coordination
- Identification of constructability, safety, and logistical challenges through review of design documents and models
- Lead the development of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for each assigned project and ensure operations/preconstruction involvement in plan development
- Lead coordination meetings between various parties, including owners, architects, engineers, and Juneau team members and review submittals concurrently with partners
- Lead Navisworks/BIMTrack coordination efforts per the BEP and communicate coordination progress to the Operations team and Director of VD+C
- Visit project site(s) weekly, conduct coordination reviews, and manage laser scanning efforts per BEP
- Create graphics and/or multi-dimensional videos to demonstrate logistics, phasing, sequence, and scheduling as required/requested by operations/preconstruction teams
