Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated
Manufacturing Process Engineer in the
Harrisburg, PA area. This role is responsible for driving process improvements, optimizing manufacturing operations, and supporting plant-wide efficiency initiatives within a heavy industrial environment. The position will focus on identifying cost reduction opportunities, analyzing production performance, and implementing continuous improvement strategies across the facility.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background with hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting, along with the ability to evaluate processes, interpret data, and support capital improvement initiatives. This individual should have a solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process mapping, and performance metrics, with the technical aptitude to work across multiple systems and technologies.
Primary Responsibilities - Leading and participating in the identification, prioritization, implementation, and control of cost reduction and process improvement initiatives using lean processes
- Identify innovative approaches to plant-wide issues that create opportunities for process improvements that positively impact the manufacturing process; provide statistical analysis reports evaluating the efficiency of current processes, procedures, equipment and associates.
- Establish work measurement programs and collect and analyze data; develop and maintain key performance indicators and metrics; design manufacturing systems to achieve production goals!
- Conduct feasibility studies of varied projects to determine the worth of an investment and provide justification for capital appropriations.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance/improve quality systems and manufacturing operations, including (but not limited to) Kaizen teams, and other "Lean" manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications or Requirements - (Required) Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial or Applied Science
- (Preferred) 3 to 5 years hands on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- (Required) Technical aptitude and ability to grasp multiple technologies
- (Required) Working knowledge of AutoCAD or some other relevant software program
- (Preferred) Experience in best manufacturing process implementation practices; blueprint reading, and process mapping methodologies.
- (Preferred) Experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma program.
