Engineering Technician

Department: Manufacturing Research & Development

The Engineering Technician will be responsible for assisting with design, CNC programing, machining operations, manufacturing and assembling test articles, maintaining R&D facility areas, and other duties. This job is multifaceted and requires the ability to collaborate with multiple groups and perform a variety of functions on a daily basis.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to MR&D team and Product Development teams.
    • Job Duties include but are not limited to machining operations, composite part layup, waterjet operations, bandsaw trimming, paint booth, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office), with CAD experience preferred (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam)
  • Mechanical aptitude, with experience building prototypes, mock-ups, tooling, and working with composites preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Must be self-motivated and able to be successful with limited supervision
  • Ability to follow written and verbal, multi-step instructions, and communicate questions and suggestions to peers, supervisors and other LTC personnel.

    • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull heavy materials up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
