Product Test and Validation Engineering Intern

Job Description

The Product Test and Validation Engineering intern supports the Engineering and lab teams by designing and building product test fixtures and machines to replicate critical environments. This individual performs functions that lead to the improvement, recertification, and quality control of current products and the development and launch of new products and components.

Key Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and document testing fixtures and systems using CAD modeling and rapid prototyping.
  • Assist in development of test procedures for new product/component validation.
  • Perform tests to evaluate mechanical/electrical systems of water conditioning equipment.
  • Collect, measure and analyze samples based on directions from testing protocols.
  • Report testing results and prepare detailed reports.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in 5S continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other Projects as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Junior or Senior working towards Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Field
  • 1+ years of experience with 3-D modeling and 2-D drawing creation using Solidworks, or similar software
  • 1+ years experience developing, building, and carrying out test plans in a laboratory environment.
  • Able to perform basic mechanical design hand calculations including flow rates, pressure, o-ring squeeze, etc.
  • Familiar with data acquisition software/hardware
  • Basic understanding of the function of mechanical and electromechanical components including pumps, valves, O-rings/seals, solenoids, motors, etc.

Compensation & Benefits
• Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour (non-exempt, hourly position).
• Benefits: This position is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits.
