As an
Entry-Level Field Engineering Technician (Expeditor),you'll be introduced to the engineering and utility sector through hands-on field inspections, data collection, and quality assessments. This role is perfect for early-career professionals who enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and developing foundational engineering skills. You'll perform on-site inspections of utility poles, assess structural and safety conditions, and support engineering teams with accurate, thorough documentation.

How You Will Make an Impact- Conduct full inspections of utility poles, including taking photographs, collecting measurements, and documenting results.
- Evaluate the structural and safety integrity of poles using company standards and field procedures.
- Complete inspection forms, field notes, and digital documentation with accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare basic technical reports, correspondence, and calculations under the supervision of engineering staff.
- Maintain organized records for all inspections and project communications.
- Represent AES with professionalism through strong customer service, communication, and safe work practices.
- Complete a targeted number of inspections per day while meeting quality and compliance requirements.
- Support field engineering tasks such as planning, data collection, verification, and site assessments.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need to Be Successful- Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and active insurance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Basic technical aptitude and interest in engineering, utilities, or field operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD or MicroStation) is helpful but not required .
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to build positive relationships with peers and clients.

Field Work & Safety RequirementsApplicants must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods. Safety gear-such as eye and hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed footwear-may be required. Physical ability to walk, stand, and carry equipment during inspections is essential.
