About this Role:

The Construction Project Engineer will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role requires strong technical expertise, field experience, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings a blend of engineering rigor, construction insight, and leadership maturity.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead engineering oversight for construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Review and interpret civil, structural, and architectural plans, drawings, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and design teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and progress reporting.
• Prepare and review RFIs, submittals, change orders, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance.
• Assist in value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk assessments.
• Ensure all engineering work aligns with PE standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT Certificate required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in construction engineering, project engineering, or construction management.
• Proven experience with infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Proficiency with engineering and construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery excellence.
Preferred Experience
• Experience in design-build or CM-at-Risk environments.
• Background in utility, roadway, structural, or site development projects.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting processes.
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus for regional project coordination.
