Job DescriptionA manufacturing company has an opportunity available for an Entry Level Manufacturing Engineer who will design, implement, develop and/or coordinate the development of manufacturing processes which meet all customer specifications, on-time and within budget. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Job Responsibilities: - Identify, create, and apply manufacturing best practices and standards to tooling and process design
- Prepare design layouts of tooling, jigs, and fixtures to enable parts to be machined properly and efficiently
- Prepare formal drawings of tooling, jigs, and fixtures depicting component parts, machine tools, dimensions, and assuring manufacturability
- Assist with troubleshooting to alleviate tooling and fixture problems
- Coordinate with Purchasing for the procurement of materials for the tooling, jigs, and fixtures
- Act as a vital resource for technical questions related to manufacturing and quality processes
- Continually seek new manufacturing technology and processing methods that will improve the productivity, cost, quality, and agility of manufacturing
- Serve, when required, as the manufacturing team leader on cross-functional projects
- Develop methods and systems enabling robust quality in manufacturing processes
Job RequirementsJob Qualifications: - Must have at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering position or equivalent with experience working at a metal fabrication company
- Must have experience leading mid to large size manufacturing projects with tooling and jig tool skills
- Must have experience working at a metal fabrication company with a track record of successfully improving manufacturing process and reducing manufacturing costs
- Must be skilled in the use of CAD software, part development, strip layout, and utilize best practices in tooling and process design; SolidWorks experience is preferred
- Must have experience loading BOM's and Routings into an ERP system
