Associate Mechanical Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

The Opportunity

The Associate Mechanical Engineer supports the engineering and delivery of mechanical systems for mission critical facilities, including data centers and other high-availability environments. This role works under licensed engineers and senior project staff to assist with design coordination, documentation, and project execution while developing technical and project engineering fundamentals.

What you will do?
  • Support mechanical engineering activities across design and construction tell phases
  • Assist with mechanical system layouts, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Review drawings and specifications for constructability and scope alignment
  • Coordinate with electrical, structural, and controls teams to support integrated designs
  • Track project progress, RFIs, and submittals under direction of senior engineers
  • Support site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities as needed
  • Follow safety procedures and report hazards promptly
  • Support project execution and team goals

Required Qualifications
  • Strong interest in mission critical or high-reliability infrastructure
  • Ability to work in a structured, fast-paced project environment
  • Clear communication skills and willingness to accept direction
  • Demonstrates ability to utilize software to create 3D models and drawings. (Solidworks preferred, AutoCad, Revit accepted)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of fundamental mechanical principles in the areas of strength of materials, statics, heat transfer and selection of industrial components.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of engineering or internship experience in mechanical, construction, or industrial environments
  • Exposure to HVAC, cooling systems, or mechanical infrastructure preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • EIT certification preferred or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
