Position Overview

This is a high-impact opportunity to lead the planning and execution of residential communities across Arkansas while serving as a key technical authority and client advisor. As a Licensed Professional Engineer, you will take ownership of complex land development projects-guiding them from early-stage planning through final delivery-while ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency at every stage.

Beyond project delivery, this role offers the chance to shape and grow a regional civil engineering presence. You will play a critical role in mentoring emerging talent, strengthening client partnerships, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives. The firm provides a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where your leadership directly influences both project outcomes and long-term expansion.

Core Responsibilities
  • Serve as Engineer of Record, ensuring all projects meet local, state, and federal regulatory standards
  • Lead the design and execution of residential land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility infrastructure
  • Oversee preparation of construction documents, specifications, and permitting packages
  • Coordinate with municipalities, agencies, and utility providers to secure approvals and entitlements
  • Act as the primary client advisor, building and maintaining strong relationships with developers and stakeholders
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, EITs, and design staff
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated project solutions
  • Support business development efforts, including proposals, client engagement, and market expansion
  • Drive team growth through recruiting, training, and performance development initiatives

Required Qualifications
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Arkansas
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5-15+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on residential land development
  • Strong knowledge of zoning regulations, subdivision design, and permitting processes
  • Expertise in stormwater management, drainage design, and utility coordination
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work remotely while supporting site visits as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with residential developers and homebuilders
  • Demonstrated success in growing client accounts or expanding regional presence
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and building high-performing teams
  • Familiarity with Arkansas-specific regulatory frameworks and approval processes
  • Exposure to multi-family or large-scale master-planned communities
