GENERAL SUMMARYThe Electrical Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of electrical engineering projects from proposal development through construction closeout. Reporting to a Managing Director or Director, this role has full accountability for project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk management, client satisfaction, and profitability. The Electrical Engineering Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients and leads internal teams and external consultants to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with contractual and firm standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has supervisory responsibilities and provides leadership, direction, mentoring, and performance oversight to assigned engineers, designers, and technical staff.

Project Management & Delivery - Manage the full lifecycle of electrical engineering projects from proposal development through design, construction administration, and closeout.
- Develop and manage project scopes, work plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, invoicing, aged accounts, and overall financial performance to ensure profitability.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules, including task-level two- to three-week lookahead schedules.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies related to scope, schedule, budget, quality, or resources.
- Prepare and review monthly project status reports, change orders, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, firm standards, and quality assurance/quality control procedures.
Technical Oversight & Quality Control - Oversee all technical aspects of electrical engineering and facility electrical systems projects.
- Review and approve electrical plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and engineer's estimates for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Interpret contract documents and resolve technical conflicts related to electrical specifications, materials, workmanship, and construction methods.
- Coordinate and integrate electrical systems with other disciplines, including mechanical, structural, architectural, and civil/site engineering.
Client & Consultant Coordination - Serve as the primary client point of contact for assigned electrical engineering projects.
- Lead and participate in client, consultant, and contractor meetings.
- Coordinate work with sub-consultants and internal departments to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Address and resolve client, contractor, and internal project issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Clearly communicate project requirements, expectations, and changes to all stakeholders.
Business Development & Proposals - Support business development efforts through client relationship management and pursuit of new project opportunities.
- Develop and review proposals, including scopes of work, fee estimates, schedules, and supporting technical documentation.
- Prepare bid documents, technical narratives, studies, and project reports.
- Participate in presentations, interviews, and client outreach activities as required.
Leadership & Team Development - Lead, coach, and mentor electrical engineering staff to support technical excellence and professional growth.
- Delegate work effectively and provide clear direction, feedback, and accountability.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing project team environment.
- Review project budgets, staffing, and performance regularly with the Senior Project Manager, Managing Director, or Director.
- Support workforce planning, utilization, and staff development initiatives within the Electrical Engineering department.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Thorough knowledge of applicable electrical codes, building codes, zoning requirements, permitting, and approval processes.
- Strong understanding of electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems and their integration with other building systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple moderate to large electrical engineering projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex project information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering analysis and design software.
- Ability to balance technical engineering responsibilities with project management and client-facing duties.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible electrical engineering and project management experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience managing electrical engineering projects through construction strongly preferred.

PAY TRANSPARENCYWhere required by applicable law, the pay range for this position is provided in the job posting. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, education, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and or benefits in accordance with applicable plans and policies.
PAYROLLEmployees paid on a bi-weekly basis, consisting of 26 pay periods annually, and is issued in arrears. Direct deposit is available.
