Job Summary: The Senior Structural Engineer I (PE) is a licensed professional engineer responsible for leading technical aspects of engineering projects. This role involves providing expert-level technical guidance, ensuring that designs meet client expectations and regulatory requirements. The Senior Engineer I oversees the technical development of projects, mentoring junior staff, and serving as a subject matter expert in the field.
Primary Essential Functions: - Lead the development of engineering designs for complex projects, providing technical oversight and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Providetechnical guidance to project teams, reviewing drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure that designs arefeasible, accurate, and compliant.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering systems into architectural or construction projects, ensuring seamless coordination with other design disciplines.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering professional development within the team.
- Conduct quality control reviews at key project stages, ensuring that all deliverables meet internal and client standards for accuracy and technical precision.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing expert technical input and ensuring that client expectations are met.
- Oversee construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and resolving technical issues during construction.

Required
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or SE Licensure
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- 7-10 years of experience in engineering design and project management.
Preferred
- Experience in fuels projects is highly preferred, and experience in building and industrial design is a plus
- Candidates should be familiar with federal project design and reviewing procedures.
- Ability to select and utilize various structural design software as needed for different projects, such as RISA, RAM, Tedds, CAESAR, etc.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
- Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers.
- Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25lbs.).
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
