Summary:
DMC is currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis, based in Vaughan, ON. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, coordinating and executing parts of the projects requiring the application of mechanical engineering knowledge and principles.

Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the sizing, selection, layout, and specification of mechanical equipment
• Developing specifications of head frame and hoist house design
• Performing and/or reviewing calculations
• Working closely with peers, project teams, other discipline leads, clients, and technical managers to deliver on time, fit for purpose designs
• Facilitating inter-discipline co-ordination during the development and implementation of design
• Ensuring that all project scope items are addressed, and quality objectives met while ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets
• Conceptualizing, planning, coordinating and executing parts of the projects requiring the application of mechanical engineering and shaft sinking knowledge and principles
• Assisting with the mechanical document checking and design verification in accordance to company and project procedures
• Prepares proposals, contract design drawings and calculations, and other engineering documentation.

Qualifications:
• 20 years + consulting engineering mechanical design experience with an emphasis on shaft sinking, head frame and hoist house design
• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, P.Eng
• Experience as a Discipline Lead, Subject Matter Expert, and Project Engineer leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team is required
• Coaching, training, and mentoring Engineers, Designers, and Drafters is expected
• Relevant experience with other mechanical systems such as mine hoisting and conveyance would be an asset.
• Other key skills include strong interpersonal and excellent oral and written skills for both client and internal team interfaces.
• A working knowledge of FEA analysis and software such as, Navisworks, Pipe Flow, Inventor, Caesar, or SolidWorks would be an asset.
• Experience with conducting HAZOPS, Root Cause Failure Analysis of industrial process systems, equipment and piping is an asset. Direct industrial work experience would be an asset.

Additional Information:
• Salary Range is expected to be between $134,500 to $189,000 CAD + short-term incentive plan bonus
