Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and revisions of SOP's, Manufacturing Plans, and WI's
    utilized in Composite Material Production and/or Molded Composite Assembly Production.
  • Hands-on engagement with the manufacturing team to solve, communicate, and educate toward
    resolution regarding production or quality related issues, by providing visible and active shop-floor
    presence.
  • Review customer specifications, design concepts, and manufacturing feasibility, to create quotes,
    BOM's, planning, or other as required to facilitate product launch and/or legacy continuance.
  • Provide detailed manufacturing process knowledge, training, and support to the areas of CNCMachining,
    Composite Molding/Assembly, and/or Prepreg Material Manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support in identifying new processing methods and/or potential equipment to
    be evaluated as potential efficiency, safety, or quality improvements.
  • Present status updates to Senior Management and/or other personnel as required.
  • Communicate with customer(s) to provide engineering, quality, and/or manufacturing
    resolutions to challenges affecting production or performance.

Other Job Duties
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Summary
  • Working within the Engineering Group the Manufacturing Engineer (ME) will be responsible for
    the undertaking of a variety of engineering activities in support of composite technology
    developments for the next generation of aircraft.

Education/Experience/Skills Required
  • B.S. Degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 1-year education
    within related engineering field when combined with previous industry experience or continued
    education.
  • Manufacturing process knowledge/experience with some and/or all: Composite
    Molding/Assembly, Materials Manufacturing, Injection Molding, Metal Fabrication (Brake, Weld,
    Stamping, Machining).
  • Proficiency in computer software application (MS Office & MS Project).
  • Experience with aerospace standard design & evaluation software (e.g. CATIA, Solidworks,
    Verisurf, and CAM)
  • Knowledge/experience regarding materials testing and analysis (destructive and non-destructive)
  • Understanding and experience of working within an AS9100 accredited Quality System.
  • Strong organizational and Project Management skills with the ability to manage multiple
    concurrent projects.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills.
  • Ability to foster excellent customer relations.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality is required.

Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally lift and/or move/carry light to medium weights of up to 35 pounds.
  • Individual will be required to be mobile, with bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
