Job Description

Vice President of Engineering (Mechanical/Structural/Civil | PE Required | Creo & Windchill)

Purpose of the Position:

Provide strategic leadership, technical direction, and operational excellence for a growing engineering organization. This is a senior leadership role for a hands-on engineering leader who can build scalable processes, develop talent, and consistently deliver high-quality designs and engineered products on tight timelines and budgets.

Essential job functions:

  • Lead and scale an engineering department of multiple designers, drafters, and engineers.
  • Drive end-to-end product development: concept → design → analysis → manufacturing readiness → release.
  • Own engineering delivery for large-scale projects-scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, review cadences, and change-control discipline.
  • Design, calculate, and certify load designs and ensure compliance with applicable state/local codes.
  • Strengthen PLM and configuration practices using Creo and Windchill.
  • Partner with manufacturing/operations to optimize designs for fabrication and execution.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
  • Active PE license (required)
  • 10-15 years total experience; 5-10 years leading engineering teams (Manager/Director level)
  • Experience delivering large projects from conception to completion while managing schedule and budget
  • Required: Creo + Windchill proficiency
  • Preferred: steel modular design and multi-state code experience
