Job Description
Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer (High Voltage Systems)
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, highly collaborative Senior Electrical Design Engineer to drive the development of next-generation high-voltage electrical systems. This role is deeply involved in the entire product lifecycle-from initial 3D modeling and prototyping to vendor engagement and manufacturing trials. You will be responsible for designing complex subsystems and wire harnesses that meet rigorous performance, cost, and manufacturability targets in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities
• System Design & Modeling: Lead the design and development of advanced electrical components and high-voltage subsystems. Create high-fidelity 3D/2D models and detailed wire harness schematics.
• Engineering Excellence: Perform critical engineering calculations and tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure all designs meet strict performance and safety requirements.
• Prototyping & Trials: Support hands-on assembly and manufacturing trials. Collaborate closely with internal production teams and external suppliers to refine designs for manufacturing (DFM).
• Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and comprehensive technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and participate in cross-functional technical reviews to drive project deadlines and innovation.
• Field & Vendor Support: Provide on-site technical support at vendor facilities and during testing or track-side events as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience: 3-5+ years of dedicated electrical design experience focusing on High Voltage (HV) systems and wire harness design.
• Industry Background: Previous experience in high-performance environments such as Motorsports, Automotive OEM, or Aerospace is highly preferred.
• Technical Mastery:
• Expert proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and perform rigorous tolerance stack-ups.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals related to thermal management and power distribution.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and solve problems under tight deadlines.
• Travel: Willingness to travel for vendor visits, testing sessions, or field support.
