Primary Responsibilities- Develop and assess processes pertaining to the production line and equipment usage, collaborating closely with the Engineering team.
- Uphold and enforce established Health & Safety, quality GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
- Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of major process issues that surpass the capabilities of the operating team members.
- Implement process control measures to maintain product quality and optimize the performance of all production lines.
- Devise new methods and equipment enhancements to improve productivity and streamline existing production line conditions.
- Learn and actively participate in discussions regarding operational challenges, Health & Safety protocols, food safety, maintenance, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and fulfill documentation requirements.
- Translate product requirements into process and equipment functionality in collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Product Development.
- Ensure all process adjustments and improvements align with strict food safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Analyze downtime events, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support commissioning, installation, and design of new or modified equipment and processes.
- Contribute to equipment and layout improvements using design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) where applicable.
- Actively engage with cross-functional teams (Operations, QA, Maintenance, IT) to understand challenges and drive process improvements.
- Undertake special projects related to various functional areas as required.
Required Experience- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 2-4 years of hands-on exposure in food manufacturing environments or similarly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with data collection systems, including equipment systems.
- Experience tracking process parameters, losses, and inefficiencies using production data to drive improvements is highly valued.
- Ability to translate product requirements and operational needs into equipment functionality and process design.
- Experience working with imperial and/or metric measurement instruments, such as industrial scales, scanning systems, and vision systems, etc.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to deeply understand process parameters and their impact on product quality.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and Root Cause Analysis is preferred.
- Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is an asset.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve product quality and line performance.
- High level of drive, ownership, and accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or extended shifts as required by production demands.
- Valid Ontario G driver's license and ability to travel between multiple production sites within the GTA.
