About the Role:The Senior Propulsion Engineer will lead the design, development, and optimization of propulsion systems critical to our manufacturing operations and product performance. This role demands a deep understanding of propulsion technologies, enabling the engineer to innovate and improve system efficiency, reliability, and safety. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, testing, and manufacturing to ensure propulsion solutions meet rigorous industry standards and customer requirements. Additionally, the Senior Propulsion Engineer will oversee testing protocols, analyze performance data, and implement improvements to advance propulsion capabilities. Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in propulsion system design and development within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Proficiency in propulsion system simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent software.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science as applied to propulsion technologies.
- Experience with testing protocols, data analysis, and troubleshooting propulsion systems.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
- Experience with advanced propulsion technologies such as electric propulsion, hybrid systems, or alternative fuels.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and certification processes related to propulsion systems.
- Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) for detailed design and integration.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and optimize propulsion systems for manufacturing applications, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
- Lead and coordinate propulsion system testing, including planning test procedures, analyzing results, and implementing design improvements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as mechanical design, electrical engineering, and manufacturing to integrate propulsion solutions effectively.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshoot propulsion system issues to enhance reliability and performance.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate design concepts, test outcomes, and project progress to stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging propulsion technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions and continuous improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support team development and knowledge sharing.
