Job Summary:We are seeking a dynamic Exterior Trim Design Engineer to become a key player in the development of exterior parts for state-of-the-art vehicles, focusing on both aesthetics and functional efficiency. This role involves close interaction with cross-functional teams to design cutting-edge exterior systems that prioritize vehicle holistic benefits. The ideal candidate will bring a rigorous and innovative approach to our fast-paced and ambitious environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead the engineering design, packaging, release, and launch processes for vehicle exterior trims.
- Create exterior systems emphasizing quality, reliability, functionality, weight, and cost efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize the overall vehicle design.
- Employ and refine top-tier engineering tools and methodologies for advanced system development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives within the engineering team.
Must-have Skills: - Proficiency in advanced CAD software, preferably CATIA V5 or V6.
- Strong knowledge of thermoplastic and thermoset resin materials, and Class A manufacturing technologies.
- Extensive experience in vehicle exterior trim design and development.
Industry Experience Required: - Minimum 2 years in automotive exterior design and engineering, preferably within a Research & Development environment focused on innovative automotive solutions.
Additional Information: - This position is based in Newark, California and requires a full-time presence on-site.
