Job Summary:The Plant Engineering Manager plays a key role in optimizing manufacturing operations. Drawing on their expertise in mechanical engineering, they ensure equipment operates smoothly, contribute to continuous process improvement, and serve as the technical point of contact on the shop floor. They work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure the performance, safety, and reliability of the facilities.
The Plant Engineering Manager will oversee a team.
Key Responsibilities:Technical and Operational Support:
• Be present on the floor to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues in real time.
• Monitor critical equipment and recommend preventive or corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to plan and execute technical interventions.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs.
• Participate in root cause analysis of failures and propose sustainable solutions.
• Design and implement mechanical modifications to improve productivity and safety.
Project Management:
• Lead engineering projects related to the installation or modernization of equipment.
• Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors during technical projects.
• Ensure compliance with schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Documentation and Compliance:
• Keep technical documentation for equipment up to date.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Participate in internal and external audits related to mechanical equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership on the shop floor and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of maintenance management tools (e.g., CMMS) and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
