Key Responsibilities- Designs and develops new products and product improvements.
- Conducts feasibility studies and analyzes design proposals.
- Creates detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
- Collaborates with manufacturing to ensure design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Performs design calculations and simulations to validate product performance.
- Investigates and resolves design-related production issues.
- Supports product testing and validation activities.
Recommended Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
- Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining).
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex requirements into practical designs.
Bonus Qualifications- Experience with CAD software beyond basic proficiency (e.g., advanced surfacing, simulation).
- Familiarity with specific manufacturing processes relevant to the company's products (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing).
- Proven ability to prototype and test designs, either physically or through simulation.
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
